A 9-year-old unsteady cat was given a second chance at life by the Animal Welfare League of Arlington in Virginia at the beginning of this month. She arrived highly matted, caked in grease, and suffering from a variety of medical conditions.
The cat named Roberta was welcomed into the loving household of Asa, an AWLA foster volunteer. The tabby was quite sociable and affectionate right away, despite being underweight and rough around the edges.
She approached me right away to request pets, began purring, and even approached the neighbourhood dogs to say hi. Asa gave Love Meow some. She was in such bad shape, but she was so loving and trusting of everybody.
Roberta suffers from shaky cat syndrome, also referred to as cerebellar hypoplasia (CH). Even though she occasionally stumbles while walking, the stubborn lady gets back up and continues to have fun.
Asa explained, “CH results in the jerky, unstable gait because the cerebellum, the area of the brain that maintains coordination and balance, is underdeveloped. “Cats with CH can live the same number of years as cats who are not affected by the condition, and it doesn’t cause them any discomfort.”
