Long Island Cat found after 10 years missing; family reunited in Spain

A decade ago, the cat named Mimi vanished from Long Island. She has since made contact with her long-lost human family in Valencia, Spain, owing to generosity and a microchip, nevertheless.

A nice Samaritan named Gary Guiseppone first noticed the black and white cat near his Miller Place home around three years ago. Even though she was one of many feral cats in the area, she had a scruffy appearance.

Mimi managed to survive in some way, and Guiseppone recently came across her and gave her some food.

He initially believed she had a serious wound, but upon closer scrutiny, discovered that it was actually a matted fur piece hanging from her body.

He set up a Have-A-Heart-trap since he wanted to aid her. Prior to this, he had captured and socialised another feral cat.

He highlighted Mimi’s response to being discovered, and how she appeared to be ready for the simple life once more.
