About a month after she was adopted, Ash’s new family learned one of her most defining characteristics: She absolutely despises it when her parents are asleep.
Instead of recognising that people occasionally need to sleep, Ash made the decision to do all in her power to convince her parents to stop sleeping permanently.
Ash’s anti-sleep campaign has been in effect for about a year at this point. Her strategies change depending on who she is aiming at to get the best outcomes.
Ash’s mother, Lauren, who asked that her last name not be used, told The Dodo, “For me, she mews in my face and lays on top of me. She rarely swats my face.
She does prefer to swing at my guy more often, but she rarely makes an impression. However, she prefers to scream-meow until one of us awakens.
Ash is extraordinarily persistent, and she won’t stop until one of her parents wakes up and recognises her. She also attempts to take occasional naps with them in bed as a compromise, but only in the most awkward places.
