Mellissa, the founder of Tiny but Mighty Kitten Rescue (in Cornwall, Ontario, Canada), learned of a kitten roaming the streets in the snow approximately a month ago.
Mellissa explained to Love Meow, “I got a message from a fellow rescuer asking whether I could take in a very pregnant cat from the streets.
“We had a lot of snow and ice on the ground at the time, as well as exceptionally low temperatures. I replied “yes” as soon as I saw a picture of her outside, showing off her enormous tummy. I was confident that I could offer the pregnant cat and her young a warm and secure environment.”
The following day, Missy the cat was saved with the aid of Jackie, Mellissa’s rescue teammate.
“When she first entered my care, she was understandably afraid. She had no notion what was going on because everything was brand-new.”
Mellissa sat silently in the room with the expectant cat mom for the first two days to reassure her that she was secure. Missy gained Missy’s trust with time, patience, and some cat goodies.
