A tiny orange kitten was brought to Indianapolis, Indiana’s IndyHumane shelter in order to give it a chance at a better life. When he first arrived, he sought to hide under any cover he could find because he was a little shy and hissy.
He was welcomed with wide arms by Jennifer (New Kittens on the Block), a foster volunteer with the rescue. She gave him the sweet name Butterball and put up a cosy cat enclosure for him to settle in, complete with soft furnishings, numerous comfy beds, and a variety of toys.
Butterball began to get along with his foster mother after receiving a few head scratches and some tasty treats.
“He has occasionally even purred for me. He enjoys his new toys and is quite playful, but some of the louder toys frighten him. When he hears strange sounds, he becomes anxious and runs “Jennifer composed.
Alongside his cuddle buddy, the tabby made a blanket cave for himself. But with a lot of reassuring from his foster mom, he began to gain confidence.
