A pregnant calico cat was taken into a Brisbane, Australia, vet office. To place the expectant mother in foster care, staff contacted Best Friends Felines, a cat rescue organisation with which they partner.
“She is such a unique and beautiful cat; in my more than 15 years of cat fostering, I have never seen a calico with blue eyes quite like hers. It is extremely impressive “a Best Friends Felines foster volunteer said.
The cat, Amity, was finally able to unwind and get some rest thanks to a cosy home setting and an abundance of food. “I made sure to spend as much time as I could with her every day. She enjoyed having her stomach rubbed.”
On a Monday in the late afternoon, Amity gave birth. She was adamant about having her caregiver by her side to help her with the babies. The foster mother noted, “She forced me to get my midwife stripes.
They assumed Amity was done giving birth after she delivered five kittens and took a little break. “I was shocked to learn that baby number six had already been born when I came back an hour later. Again, she showed no interest, so I cleaned him up.”
