Tortoiseshell kitten Cheeky was two weeks old when she and her siblings arrived at Cat Adoption Team (CAT). They required a bottle feeder, so Laura, a shelter volunteer, offered her assistance.
The tortie stood out right away when she went to pick up Cheeky and her two ginger littermates, Chippy and Moppet. Although she was the smallest of the three, she had a large set of pipes.
The kittens were thriving in Laura’s care for two weeks, receiving bottle feedings every couple of hours, developing, and beginning to interact with one another.
Laura saw that Cheeky occasionally stumbled and fell over on their four-week birthday.
“She had a much harder time walking the following day. She was given medicines at the CAT hospital when I brought her there.”
The veterinarian began Cheeky on toxoplasmosis medication for the following 28 days based on her symptoms. The tortie was really courageous and determined despite her struggles to move and hold her head up.
